The Hallway
Though not the formal entrance, the back hallway is the family’s primary route through the home. Langstaff maximised this hardworking area with full-height wardrobes, tailored to the unique stepped floor and designed to accommodate the daily comings and goings of the household. With a painted finish and paired with antique brass hardware, the cabinetry is complemented by period-style air vents, oak flooring and woven basket shelving, details that bring warmth and tactility.

The Kitchen
At the heart of the home, the kitchen brings a contemporary clarity to the classic country aesthetic. The double bowl sink offers a more streamlined take on a traditional butler sink, while the in-frame painted shaker cabinetry, purposely minimal in its detailing, is finished with antique brass handles. A bespoke extractor mantle blends into the room, painted to match the walls.
The island anchors the kitchen, with waterfall-edge worktops in Imperial Mirage quartz. Crafted from solid European oak, paired with pressed oak veneer panels, the bespoke built-in cabinets are stained in a custom walnut tone and finished to create a rich, rustic patina. Integrated functionality includes two dishwashers, a secondary sink, and dedicated spice and utensil drawers—practical features tailored to a growing family’s needs.

The Walk-In Pantry
The walk-in pantry transforms a once-underused corridor into an extension of the kitchen. Shaker-style cabinets, painted in a soft green, are paired with V-groove panelling and open shelving with bespoke painted brackets. Floating strip lighting, hidden sockets and customised shelf heights create space for everything to support the family’s everyday routines.

The Boot Room
Also painted in a soft green, the boot room continues the home’s visual language. A solid oak bench seat, stain-matched to the kitchen island, lifts to reveal hidden shoe storage, while V-groove panelling and antique brass hooks echo details in the pantry. Designed for muddy boots and daily life, the space reflects Langstaff’s ability to unite utility and considered design in a single, cohesive environment.
The Utility Room
The boot room leads directly into the utility, one of the smallest yet most carefully resolved spaces in the house. Langstaff navigated the pitched ceiling with characteristic precision, opting for a deep painted shelf in place of upper cabinetry to keep the room feeling open. A Belfast sink, washer, dryer and carefully placed sockets are seamlessly integrated to create a space that is as efficient as it is intelligently laid out.

The Entrance Hall Library
In the main entrance, Langstaff created an inviting library space that celebrates the farmhouse’s original beams while introducing subtle colour. Painted in Little Greene’s Harley Green, the shaker bookcase adds character without overwhelming the room. Aged brass mushroom knobs, picture lights and concealed cable management provide finishing touches that balance period detail with function.

The Dressing Room
Tucked beneath the eaves, the dressing room presented one of the project’s biggest technical challenges: none of the walls were straight. Langstaff addressed this with individually adapted cabinetry, crafted to follow the room’s unique geometry. Painted in Mushroom by Little Greene and finished with Corston hardware and antique brass hanging rails, the wardrobes feature internal drawers and integrated lighting, bringing order and refinement to this serene, sloped space.
